Applications are invited for a Research Officer to work with Professor 
David Miller (and an interdisciplinary team) on an EPSRC-funded research 
project on ‘Strategic Identity Management in Cyberspace’.

This project aims to understand the phenomenon of ‘sock puppets’ and how 
these are used in strategic identity management online. The project will 
develop a pilot project to test how to identify sock puppet digital 
signatures. The Research Officer will be required to review literature 
in this area, scope funding sources, run workshops/sandpits to develop 
an interdisciplinary grant funding application(s) and draft review articles.

Candidates should hold a PhD in a relevant subject related to the 
research project (including sociology, public heath, communication 
studies etc.). Knowledge of digital research methods, data scraping, 
crunching and visualisation would be an advantage.

This post is fixed-term until 29 March 2013 working part-time, 14.6 
hours per week.
