The Center for Global Public Relations Seeks Scholars-in-Residence for Fall 2012

CHARLOTTE – Communication scholars and public relations practitioners who are seeking an opportunity to research global public relations beginning August 2012 are encouraged to apply for the Scholar-in-Residence program offered by the Center for Global Public Relations (CGPR) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA.

The program enables public relations scholars and practitioners to perform research while at the Center, which is located in a major urban research university that has a large international population of students in one of the United States’ most diverse and cosmopolitan cities. Charlotte, which is the world or North American headquarters of many multinational corporations, is known as the “international Gateway to the South” and will host the Democratic National Convention in September.

Scholars-in-Residence are provided with a stimulating research environment and resources, their own offices and computers in the Center as well as library and other university privileges. Scholars-in-residence are often invited to lead panel discussions on their research areas, to serve as guest speakers in classes and at professional events relating to their areas of interest and to participate in CGPR programming initiatives. Past scholars-in-residence have been from Australia, Denmark, South Korea and China

Scholars-in-residence must be self-funded, but convenient and inexpensive on-campus housing is available.

More information on the program, including an application form, and a list of current and past Scholars-in-Residence, is available on the Center’s website: http://cgpr.uncc.edu/what-we-do/get-involved/scholar-residence.

UNC Charlotte’s Center for Global Public Relations is dedicated to helping public relations practitioners, scholars/educators and students coalesce into a global community that shares universal professional values and best practices. The Center is a resource that provides onsite research and educational opportunities, continuing education programs and global partnerships for those who want to increase their knowledge about global public relations.
