Lectureship in Journalism Studies

Full time, Open ended

Communications, Media and Culture wishes to appoint a suitably qualified an=
d experienced candidate at Lecturer level to pursue research in Journalism =
as a member of the Stirling Media Research Institute, to teach and supervis=
e postgraduate and undergraduate students, and to undertake administrative =
duties as appropriate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity t=
o participate in both CMC's and the School of Arts and Humanities' expandin=
g portfolio of Masters programmes by developing specialist provision where =
appropriate, and to supervise doctoral students. The successful candidate w=
ill also evidence the capacity to take a development role in Journalism at =
Stirling, and will pursue opportunities for collaborative activities in the=
 School, for example with colleagues in Publishing Studies, Creative Writin=
g, and Law. Applications will be welcome from those who have research speci=
alism's in a range of areas in Journalism/Journalism Studies. Consideration=
 may be given to candidates able to submit practice research of the highest=
 level in print or broadcast journalism in the next Research Excellence Fra=
mework assessment. We intend that the successful candidate should take up h=
is/her appointment from 1 September 2012.
