Wed Jul 13 21:05:11 GMT 2011

Political Studies Association Media and Politics Group (MPG) Annual Conference

3-4 November 2011

Bournemouth University, UK

Civic and Audience Empowerment

Conference website: http://blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk/media-politics/

We are pleased to announce that the programme for the PSA Media and Politics Annual Conference is available via the conference website http://blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk/media-politics/programme/

The main theme of the conference is civic and audience empowerment focusing, in particular, on the ways and means through which (all and any) media can empower or dis-empower citizens, i.e. act as vehicles of or obstacles to civic change. However, there will be a wide range of papers on contemporary media and politics from scholars across the globe. The keynote speech will be from Professor Stuart Allan, Bournemouth University.

Conference registration is very reasonably priced: £80 for standard delegates and £40 for doctoral and postgraduate students. This cost includes coffee, refreshments and lunch for both days, plus a 3 course conference dinner at The Print Room on the evening of 3rd November 2011.

You can register online here: http://blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk/media-politics/registration/

The collated abstracts of the 33 conference abstracts are also online: http://blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk/media-politics/abstracts/

We look forward to seeing you in Bournemouth in November.

Best regards

Dan
