The University of Aveiro (UA) recently created the UA Doctoral School
(EDUA).

In pursuit of its mission, EDUA develops doctoral programs of
excellence, including national and international joint ventures, while
implementing specific measures to enhance the employability of holders
of its doctoral degrees based on training needs and market requirements.

We seek expressions of interest for the possible recruitment of a
Doctoral School Coordinator of recognized international standard who
will be contracted as Guest Professor by the University of Aveiro for a
period of three years.

The role and responsibilities of the coordinator are:

a) Direct the activity of EDUA and ensure the continuity and fulfillment
of its objectives;

b) Represent EDUA before the University’s management bodies, support
units and externally;

c) Prepare the annual and multiannual strategic plans and submit them to
the Rector for approval;

d) Prepare the activities report and budget and submit them to the
Rector for approval;

e) Appoint the members of the Executive Committee;

f) Propose to the Rector  the composition of an International Monitoring
Panel;

g) In collaboration with the relevant management bodies, propose the
development of (third cycle) doctoral programs which are considered
strategic to the University;

h) Ensure the proper management of the human and material resources of EDUA;

i) Propose to the competent management bodies the execution of
protocols, agreements and partnerships of interest to the University, at
national and international levels;

j) Hold conferences, seminars and workshops, with the aim of promoting
postgraduate studies at the University at national and international levels;

k) Perform any other tasks within the scope of EDUA that there are not
expressly assigned to other University managing bodies or support units.
