in Art, Design and Communication.

Conference partners are: Aalto University Helsinki, University of the Arts =
London, Penn State University.

The conference will be held at Aalto University<http://www.aalto.fi/en/>  / =
School of Art and Design<http://www.taik.fi/en/>  in Helsinki. Finland. Its =
focus will be on exploring future learning spaces, and we will be looking a=
t this from four different perspectives.

The conference will have a different format to usual, because we want the f=
orm of the conference to itself be an experiment in e-learning. Papers will=
 be submitted in June and discussed online for two months before the confer=
ence. The conference will then be freed of the need for people to stand up =
and read what they have written, and will instead be much more action-orien=
ted.


The conference will be cross-disciplinary, and will have four overarching t=
opics, which are intended to help us frame elearning as part of an urgent n=
eed to locate the real, virtual and augmented learning spaces of the future=
.

These topics are:

  *   Open experimental spaces;
  *   Institutional spaces;
  *   Social spaces for dialog and debate;
  *   Networked spaces.
