DISABILITY&  POPULAR CULTURE

Deadline: April 30, 2011

The Disability&  Popular Culture area of the MPCA invites proposals (or abstracts) for papers on any aspect of the intersection of disability and popular culture.  All topics, approaches, and perspectives related to disability and popular culture are welcome.  Interdisciplinary perspectives are encouraged, as are discussions of new directions in disability studies and popular culture studies.

Proposals should be 250-300 words in length, and must be received by April 30, 2010.  Along with the proposal, please include:
title of paper/presentation
name
institutional affiliation (e.g. department and university)
postal address
email address
request for TV&  DVD player, if needed
For co-authored papers, please include the above information for each author/presenter.

Proposals and inquiries should be sent by e-mail to the Disability&  Popular Culture area chair, Asim Ali, at (aali /at/ umd.edu).

Note: please do not submit the same item to more than one Area Chair.
