1. THE TOPIC OF THE FORUM:
The IV Central European Communication Forum (CECF) continues the tradition of scholarly conferences held in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the last 3 years and integrating the milieu of scholars, universities and media professionals from many Cen-tral European nations. It constitutes a new creative forum for exchange of thoughts, ideas and results of research done in the media and social communication against the background of the media civilization: Ksiaz (Poland: 2008), Brno / Telc (Czech Republic: 2009) and Bratislava (Slovakia: 2010). The topic of The IV CECF is the convergence of media in its rich variety of aspects and consequences. The convergence of media results from the digital revolution as well as inter-penetration of different sectors of information, communication and information technology. The aim of IV CECF is to provide an investigating insight into media of the future and future of media from the perspective of the processes of technological, transmission, market, media product and services convergence as well as convergence on the level of the ethics, aesthetics and law of media. The convergence of media creates, on the one hand, new opportunities for communica-tion, information, education, entertainment, public relations etc.; on the other hand, it has the invidual and society facing a lot of new challenges. These opportunities and challenges will become objects of creative research and analysis during The Central European Communi-cation Forum (CECF) in Cracow (Poland), 5-7 May, 2011.

2. GENERAL PROGRAMME OF IV CECF:
Programme of IV Central European Communication Forum (CECF) is as follows:

SECTION 1: Convergence ? old and new media: new technologies, new media services and products, the sociology, psychology and philosophy of new media; SECTION 2: Media in future: systems, institutions, recipients, the journalism of the fu-ture; SECTION 3: Future in media: convergence culture, politics in media, the media civiliza-tion; SECTION 4: The ethics, aesthetics, public relations and law of media at the time of con-vergence; SECTION 5: Market convergence: the economics of media, commercialization and car-telization;
SECTION 6: Convergence in Media: doctoral students section and poster session
