Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Media Studies and Film

Applications are invited for the above 
Lectureship (Below the Bar)* in the Huston School of Film and Digital Media.

The Huston School of Film & Digital Media was 
established in 2003 under the active patronage of 
the Huston family. The School offers a pioneering 
suite of courses with a single starting point, 
the role of cultural creativity. They combine the 
academic and the vocational, theory and practice in professional courses.

The successful candidate will be involved in 
delivering and developing flexible and versatile 
teaching programmes but will have a particular 
responsibility in developing the research base of 
the Huston School and securing funding to support 
research activities.  Candidates should have a 
Ph.D. in a relevant area and a proven track 
record in research and will have experience 
teaching in a third level institution.

We are looking for specific expertise in (some of) these areas:
    * Digital Media
    * Advocacy
    * Third Cinema
    * Feminist / Gender film theory
    * Policy in the Arts

We seek a person with a combination of academic 
excellence and involvement in the public sphere 
and would ask that 2 copies of recent, relevant 
published articles or essays (from books, 
academic or non-academic journals, newspapers or 
digital media) accompany any application.

Note: This post is envisaged as a permanent 
full-time position; however, in the context of 
the governments Employment Control Framework, the initial tenure of the
contract will be for 10 years subject to review.

Salary:           From ¬40,256 p.a. to ¬56,782 p.a.
