The European Commission just published the final
report of a Study on Assessment Criteria for
Media Literacy Levels - A comprehensive view of
the concept of media literacy and an
understanding of how media literacy level in Europe should be assessed (2009)
The study was carried out for the Commission by
EAVI (European Association for Viewers?
Interests), CLEMI, Universitat Autonoma de
Barcelona, Université Catholique de Louvain and
the University of Tampere. The objective of the
study was to analyse the most appropriate
criteria for the assessment of media literacy
levels and provide the Commission with a set of such criteria.
