[ecrea] cfp The Journalism of Diaspora: Ethics, Production and Audiences conference

We would like to draw your attention and interest to the above 2 day
conference which is being held in the historic city of Lincoln on Sept
10th and 11th 2010.

The conference aims to conceptualise the notion of a journalism of
Diaspora and invites papers from academics, practitioners, producers and
other interested parties to explore and debate the prospects of a
journalism of Diaspora along the following lines:

Is there and should there be such a thing as Diaspora journalism?
What are the forms and features of Diaspora journalism?
The issue of ethics, production and audiences facing this style of
journalism.
Challenges facing workers and proprietors of Diaspora media and how they
are tackled.

Please note that more areas for discussion and exploration can be found
on the conference website.

Keynote speakers at the conference include:

 Prof. Lord Patel of Bradford (OBE)
 Barnie Choudhury (BBC and University of Lincoln)
 Professor Chris Atton, Edinburgh Napier University

We are opening the call for papers for this conference and welcome
abstract submissions for consideration from academics, practitioners,
producers and other interested parties. Submission should be a 300 word,
English summary of the paper. Submissions should be made electronically
to the conference office at=20

Dead line for abstract submission is 28th February 2010.

Peer review by 31st March 2010.

Eligible participants will be notified by 12th April 2010.
