The above full time posts are available from 1 October 2009 in the =
School of Humanities and Social Science.=20
We invite applications for two 3-year early stage research posts as part =
of a Marie Curie Initial Training Network in Electoral Democracy =
[ELECDEM] funded by the European Commission under Framework 7. ELECDEM =
brings together 11 expert teams from 9 European countries to provide =
substantive and methodological training in voting behaviour and =
elections research to a cohort of early stage and experienced =
researchers. In total, there are 18 research positions available =
including the two hosted at Exeter. The objective of the network and =
associated projects is to evaluate the functioning of democracies in the =
context of globalisation and technological and institutional change. Two =
research projects will be hosted in Politics at the University of =
Exeter: (1) Gender, Campaign Messages and Mobilisation Effects and (2) =
Representation in Cross-National Perspective. Applicants should =
designate to which project they are applying.=20
It is anticipated that the research performed will form all or part of =
studies toward a PhD in Politics at Exeter. Applicants will have an =
undergraduate degree and demonstrate ability to undertake post-graduate =
level research.=20
Researchers would join an active group of academic researchers and =
post-docs in the Centre for Elections, Media and Parties [CEMaP - =

The salary will be as specified for FP7 Marie Curie Early Stage =
Researchers (including mobility and travel allowance, which are variable =
dependent upon country of origin and family status). Please note that =
allowances will be paid in GB pounds at the prevailing euro rate.<!--[if =
