SCHOOL OF POLITICAL, SOCIAL AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES, UNIVERSITY
OF EAST ANGLIA, UK
TWO POSTDOCTORAL LECTURING FELLOWSHIPS ? Ref: ATS357
We wish to appoint two postdoctoral lecturing fellowships. These two fixed
term (10 months), part-time posts (0.65fte) are designed to allow
postdoctoral students to develop their teaching skills and experience and to
complete a programme of publications to advance their academic career.
Applicants must be within two years of completing their PhD. We welcome
applicants in any of the areas of teaching and
research within the School, but
an ability to teach on two or more core first year modules is essential,
together with the capacity to contribute to more specialised teaching at
second and third year level.
The School has particular research strengths in international and European
studies; in media and cultural politics; in
policy theory and practice; and in
political theory and thought. We have developed a research focus around the
links between culture, ideas and policy. The School has close research and
teaching ties with colleagues in the Schools of Philosophy, American Studies,
Development Studies, Environmental Sciences, Film and Television Studies,
History, and the ESRC Centre for Competition Policy. The School has a lively
postgraduate community of MA and PhD students. It enjoys ESRC recognition
for its PhD programme and for a number of its MA programmes.
These posts are available from 1 September 2009.
Closing date: 12 noon on 3 July 2009.
