Doctoral students are admitted at School of
Humanities, Education and Social Sciences,
Örebro University but employed by Södertörn University.

To be qualified to apply for a doctoral studentship, an applicant must have:
1. taken a qualification at Master's level,
2. completed courses equivalent to 240 higher
education credits, of which a minimum of 60
credits must be at Master's level, or
3. in some other way, in Sweden or abroad, have
acquired largely equivalent qualifications (general entry requirements).
If there are extenuating circumstances, the head
of department at Örebro University may grant
exemption from the general entry requirements.
Anyone wishing to be granted such an exemption
must state this, with reasons, in their application.
Please note that anyone who was considered to
fulfil the general entry requirements for
doctoral studies prior to 1 July 2007 is still
considered qualified for doctoral studies, but
only until the end of June 2015.
The application must comprise three copies of the following documents:
* A completed application form:
"Anmälan/beslut om antagning till utbildning på
forskarnivå at Örebro University". The form can
be downloaded from: <http://www.oru.se/>http://www.oru.se/.
* Official transcript or equivalent proof
that you fulfil the general and specific entry requirements
* CV with details of prior studies, employment and assignments
* Degree project at Bachelor's and Master's
level in the subject for which you are
applying, or equivalent. If these are not
written in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or
English, a summary of 5-6 pages (approx 14 000
characters) must be enclosed in addition to an
original copy of the degree project.
* A research plan/proposal for the doctoral
thesis, maximum 5 pages. This plan should
include formulation of the research problem(s),
materials, methods, limitations and research
background, as well as a time schedule for the planned work.
* Publications, maximum 3 printed works.
Indicate which of these works you wish to be
given primary consideration in the assessment of your application.
* Contact details of two referees.
