Dear Colleagues,
The European Media Management Education Association*s doctoral summer
school will be held at Nova University of Lisbon, Communication Sciences
Department (FCSH-UNL), August 31 to September 4, 2009. It will be a
stimulating and engaging gathering that will provide doctoral students a
unique opportunity to learn from some of the best educators in the field
and receive individual feedback on their dissertation presentations.
Enclosed are the preliminary program and application form. Please
return the application to Barbara Eklof, e-mail: (barbara.eklof /at/ ihh.hj.se)
by June 11 to ensure you will have a place among the elite group of
students that will take part.
We are still assembling the faculty for the summer school, but those
who have already agreed to lecture and provide advice include
* Prof. Francisco Rui Cádima, Communication Sciences Department of
FCSH-UNL, Portugal
* Prof. Michel Clement, Institute of Marketing and Media, University of
Hamburg, Germany
* Prof. Hans van Kranenburg, Radboud University Nijmegen, Nimegen
School of Management, the Netherlands
* Prof. Mercedes Medina, University of Navarra, Spain
* Prof. Heinz-Werner Nienstedt, Johannes Gutenberg University, Germany
* Prof. Robert G. Picard, MMTC, Jönköping International Business
School, Sweden
Lectures are designed to explore theories and approaches to researching
issues and topics in media management and to provide a better basis of
understanding of managerial and business concepts and perspectives. A
considerable amount of time will though be dedicated to students
presenting their dissertation research for discussion and advice from
the faculty and other participants.
