[eccr] Global Learn Day

Wed Nov 05 16:54:39 GMT 2003

November 16th 2003 is an opportunity to participate in what is probably the
most important and inclusive e-learning event of the year.

You can find full details of the event at http://bfranklin.edu/gld7/ and a
provisional timetable has been set up at
http://www.talkingcommunities.com/tc/gld7/speakers.htm.

Global Learn Day kicks off International Education Week, which takes place
from Nov 17th through Nov 21st. The theme is "Education Through Friendship."

"It's like the Academy Awards for global education," says GLD founder John
Hibbs.

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of
international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the
U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is an effort
to promote programs that prepare Americans for global environment and
attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences
in the United States. Global SchoolNet, Sister Schools of San Diego, and
other Friendship Through Education consortium members are joining Global
Learn Day to showcase the very best international education activities -
from AROUND THE WORLD! Now in its 7th year, Global Learn Day is a 24-hour,
non-stop online event -- a worldwide celebration of learning, featuring
approximately sixty passionate panels from all corners of the globe.

The ICT, Social Enterprise and Sustainable Development Newsletter will
resume in the near future.
