The new international research centre is focusing its research on the role media management and transformation play in today’s world particularly within Europe. The Centre has five new openings, one post-doc position and four doctoral candidate positions.
JIBS has recruited two international media experts to lead the Centre, Professor Robert G. Picard, a media economics authority from Turku School of Economics and Business Administration, and Professor Karl Erik Gustafsson, an expert in mass media economy from University of Gothenburg.
Post-Doctoral Researcher The Media Management and Transformation Centre is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to manage and undertake research projects exploring issues of media management and economics. The applicant should have a doctoral-degree in the relevant field and demonstrate the willingness and ability to benefit from and contribute to our environment through a track record of successful research and teaching. The applicant is expected to have previously conducted research on issues related to media and/or a background in a media industry. A professional command of the English language is a requirement.

Doctoral Candidates The Media Management and Transformation Centre is seeking four doctoral candidates to undertake doctoral studies focusing on managerial and economic issues faced by media companies in the contemporary environment. Doctoral candidates will enroll in a doctoral programme such as business administration, economics, or law (media law) and carry out research projects and other activities in the centre.
