SCIENCE REPORTING AND THE INTERNET, Maastricht,
May 30-31, 2002
Organised by the European Journalism Centre, Mastricht
This two-day course for journalists specialising in science coverage,
or moving into that specialist area, examines the uses of the Internet
for monitoring scientific information, researching science-based topics,
and publishing science news.
During the seminar participants will be taught techniques to use
and check Internet resources, they will be given useful tips for
online publishing and reporting along with a guided tour of
Alphagalileo, the Internet-based press service on science
and to Cordis, the database of European Union research projects.
Lead tutor for the course is Brian Trench, senior lecturer at the
School of Communications, Dublin City University. He has led three
workshops on online journalism at the European Journalism Centre, in
1999-2001
