*JCMR Releases Vol. 13, No. 1, April 2021 edition – 26^th Issue*

We are pleased to announce the release of Volume 13, Number 1, April 2021 edition of the /Journal of Communication and Media Research/ (JCMR) which is the journal’s 26^th issue since it started publication in 2009. Every issue has been released regularly and on schedule in April and October of every year.

The Volume 13, Number 1, April 2021 issue focuses on *World Media Systems, **Fans & Celebrities, *and*Development Communication**.* The issue contains 14 articles written by 30 authors (16 from Nigeria, four from Kenya, three from the United States of America, two from Ghana, and one each from Egypt, Italy, Mexico, South Africa and Spain.  Soft copies in PDF are being sent to contributors through email while complimentary print copies will be sent by surface mail. The online versions of the abstracts and full articles are also being uploaded onto the journal’s website: www.jcmrjournal.org <http://www.jcmrjournal.org>. Interested readers can order for either the print version or the PDF copies or both. Members of the Association of Media and Communication Researchers of Nigeria (AMCRON) who have paid their 2021 annual dues are entitled to one print copy free of charge.

We also wish to remind you that it is just three weeks to the end of submission of manuscripts for the *Volume 13 Number 2, October 2021* issue of the journal. The extended window of the Call for Papers for this issue will close on April 30, 2021. *Hammonds,* Kyle Alan is a doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant at the Department of Communication, University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma, U.S.A. His research is broadly in cultural studies, with emphases in popular culture and cross-cultural communication.

*Wesley,* Doris Ekeminiobong is a Lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies, University of North Carolina, Greensboro, U.S.A. Her research revolves around understanding the role of communication in terrorism and how communication can address, manage, combat terrorism issues, and examine the problems of terrorism among established terrorist organizations within the African continent. *Ezzat,*Hanan *Ph.D.,*is a university lecturer and seasoned communications, digital and gender consultant. She holds a Ph.D. from the Rovira i Virgili University, Tarragona, Spain and a master’s degree from Cairo University. Her research interests include qualitative research, youth, identity, influencers, gender and social media.

*Bangmarigu,* Manasseh Jonah is a graduate student at the Department of Communication and Media Studies, University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies) degree from the University of Cape Coast, and he is currently studying Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies (Business Communication) at the Department of Communication and Media Studies, University of Education, Winneba. His research interest includes multimodal communication, health communication and discourse analysis.

*Gyasi,* William Kodom *Ph.D.,* is a senior lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies, University of Cape Coast, Ghana where he has been teaching since 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from the University of Cape Coast in 2001 and an MPhil and PhD in English Language from the same university. His research areas are readability, academic communication and corporate communication.

*Alonso,*Martín Oller *Ph.D.,* is of the Università degliStudi di Milano, Italy. He holds a Ph.D. in Journalism (Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid, 2012). He is involved in several international research projects such as /World of Journalism Study/ (WJS), /Journalistic Cultures/ and /Pre-professional Journalistic Culture/ based on the comparative analysis of journalism, journalists and journalism career students in more than a hundred countries around the world. He has resided in Switzerland, England, France, Spain, and Ecuador; conducting research stays in Italy, Cuba and the United States.

He develops the research lines: media systems and comparative journalistic cultures, communication policies, citizen participation and digital empowerment, education and communication.

*Adeniji*Oluwatomi Caleb is of the Mass Communication Programme, Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State. Nigeria.

*Adeniyi,*Abiodun *Ph.D.,* is an Associate Professor and Head, Department of Mass Communication, Baze University, Abuja. He had his first degree from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, after which he worked for /The Guardian/ Newspapers, Nigeria, covering various beats in Lagos and Abuja, for more than a decade. He won the British Chevening Scholarship in 2003 to study International Communications at the University of Leeds, England and began his Ph.D. research immediately after his Master’s Degree programme at the same University. He was awarded his doctorate degree in Communication Studies in 2008.

*Atewolara-Odule,* Odukunle Adebayo is a lecturer of Communication and Development Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria. His research interests are in the area of Book Publishing, Public Relations, Advertising and Development Communication.

*Bobmanuel*Karibi Benson is a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori, Rivers State. His research interests include Development Communication, Broadcasting and Gender relations.

*Fadeyi,* Isaac Olajide *Ph.D.,* is a lecturer of Public Relations and Advertising at Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, Nigeria. His research focuses on Advertising and Public Relations as well as Mass Communication Theory. He holds a PhD in Mass Communication with specialisation in Public Relation and Advertising.

*Isah,* Ismail is a communications teacher and researcher in the Department of Mass Communications at Baze University, Abuja. He is an alumnus of the School of Media and Communications of the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass communication from Bayero University Kano, a Masters’ Degree in Mass communications from the University of Lagos and currently a PhD. Candidate in Media Arts at the University of Abuja, Nigeria.
