applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor (Lecturer)
position in Journalism effective August 23, 2021.
Journalism is one of the most popular sequences in the Department of
Communication at the University of Utah. Undergraduates in Journalism

prepare them for an evolving media landscape.
The Department is committed to removing barriers that have been
traditionally encountered by individuals from underrepresented groups;
strives to recruit faculty who will further enhance our diversity; and
makes every attempt to support their academic, professional, and
personal success while they are here. The University of Utah recognizes
that a diverse faculty benefits and enriches the educational experiences
of the entire campus and greater community. This institution offers
benefits to same-sex and to different sex domestic partners. This
institution offers benefits to spouses.
The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher dedicated to
cultivating informed and ethical students who are ready to enter the
workforce as well-prepared professionals. The standard annual teaching

Specialty Reporting, Magazine Writing, and Visual Editing. It would also

History, Media and Society, Principles of Visual Communication, Mass
Communication Law, and/or Media Ethics. All courses taught at the UAC
are in English.

master’s degree and evidence of teaching excellence. Pluses include: (1)
journalism experience (e.g., newspaper, radio, television, digital)
and/or (2) a Ph.D. in Communication or related discipline.
Established in 2014, the UAC has a growing presence in Songdo, South
Korea. UAC has its own, modern, high tech building on the Incheon Global
Campus. Built on reclaimed land the campus is 30 minutes from the
Incheon International Airport, a major transportation hub for the larger
Asian region. Seoul is an easy (less than an hour) bus ride, subway
ride, or taxi ride away from UAC. More information about UAC may be
