[ecrea] PhD studies in communication at the University of Ottawa
Tue Nov 28 01:40:29 GMT 2017
The University of Ottawa Department of Communication is excited to
invite applications for its PhD program
(http://catalogue.uottawa.ca/en/graduate/doctorate-philosophy-communication/).
Going into its third year, the program offers students a unique set of
opportunities. Students engage with two linguistic traditions of
communication scholarship, English and French. They also draw from two
areas of theoretical emphasis, organizational communication and media
studies. They collaborate with professors who conduct research on a
range of topics, such as health, public policy, digital media, and the
environment.
Students in the Department of Communication’s PhD program also benefit
from being in Ottawa. As Canada’s capital, Ottawa is rich in
opportunities for making research meaningful. Members of the Department
and the Faculty of Arts cultivate relationships with a range of
governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as with the
media. The Department is also pleased to offer generous funding to its
PhD students, through internal programs as well as external competitions
such as the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.
For more information about the program, please see the Department’s
website (https://arts.uottawa.ca/communication/en) or email Prof. Kyle
Conway, the director of graduate studies ((kconwa2 /at/ uottawa.ca)
<mailto:(kconwa2 /at/ uottawa.ca)>). To apply, please visit
http://www.uottawa.ca/graduate-studies/programs-admission/apply/specific-requirements.
Priority will be given to students who apply before January 15, 2018,
although the Department will continue to review applications as long as
there are still open positions.
