*Lecturer in Crime, Media and Society*

This is an opportunity to join Social Sciences at Loughborough University, part of the School of Social, Political and Geographical Sciences. Loughborough Social Science is recognized nationally and internationally for its excellence in research, teaching and enterprise which span media and communication, sociology, criminology and social policy. The School has an investment strategy to develop cross-disciplinary studies based around its core strengths, and is in a strong financial and student recruitment position.

Applications are invited from outstanding candidates with research and teaching interests across criminology, media studies and social policy, but candidates with an interest in: online crime; hate crime; media and crime; policing and social justice; or social welfare are particularly encouraged. The candidate must have experience of teaching and will be expected to help lead teaching and contribute to other areas of the curriculum as required, including the delivery and development of BSc and MA programmes. The lectureship will commence as soon as possible following interview.

Candidates are expected to have: a completed PhD in a social science discipline, an active research profile, and the clear potential to contribute to the University Strategy of Building Excellence across research, teaching and enterprise in a high-performing HE environment.
