Sheffield Hallam University is seeking to recruit a Lecturer / Senior 
Lecturer in Journalism.
Grade 7/8 - £32,958 to £48,327 dependent on experience
We're proud to have one of the top ten undergraduate journalism courses 
in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2016). Both our undergraduate and 
postgraduate students learn from our team of award-winning, research 
active journalists. They also benefit from our excellent business links 
and our focus on digital technologies.
We're looking for someone with the ability to inspire, motivate and 
connect with a range of people including students, colleagues and 
research partners.
Focusing on the theoretical dimensions of journalism, you will deliver 
modules in areas such as journalism and society and research methods, as 
well as supervising student dissertations.
We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you can help 
develop our research and teaching in data journalism and visualisation.
You will contribute to our vibrant research culture, so a scholarly 
understanding of the contemporary issues facing journalists today is vital.
It's also essential that you:
·enjoy teaching and supervising students.
·have the ability to design and deliver innovative, high quality, 
vibrant and challenging learning experiences that help them develop 
their independent, critical thinking as future journalists and 
communicators.
·have some experience of academic course administration.
·have a relevant doctorate, or a commitment to complete one in the next 
five years.
We're especially interested to hear from you if you're ready to take on, 
or develop into, course leadership and similar roles.
