CfP RETROFUTURISM 4.0 Symposium

Media scholars whose work explores nostalgia, materiality, genre, and 
retrofuturism are invited to submit 200 word abstracts before July 20, 2026.

1. Media Archeology --
digital heirlooms, obsolete media, archives, etc.

2. Materiality --
relics, intermedia, tactility, embodied practices, etc.

3. Genre --
style, aesthetics, platforms, music, etc.

4. Nostalgic Embodiment --
retrotopia, hauntology, heterotopia, affect, etc.

This is a fully online symposium. It will happen from 28 - 29 August, 2026.

Organizers are Dr. Ross Cole (University of Leeds), Dr. Michiel Kamp 
(Utrecht University), and the Nostagain Network (Concordia University).
