CFP - short form books about music business, technology and culture
Proposals for peer-reviewed short-form books (up to 30,000 words
inclusive of notes/bibliography) are welcomed for *The Anthem Impact in
Music Business, Technology and Culture* series that I manage.
Topics should relate to any aspect of music business and/or its
intersections with technology or culture, and should feature original
scholarly research and new perspectives.
Proposals from emerging and established scholars from diverse
territories and genres are encouraged, provided they contribute to
global discourse, and while I am open to any potential suggestions,
would envisage areas (non-exhaustive list!) such as:
* Artist management
* Music marketing and promotion (online and offline)
* Music PR (online and offline)
* Live music production and/or consumption
* Digital distribution models and issues
* Music supervision
* Music publishing
* Music technologies
* Intersections with film, TV and other media
* Intersections with online and console gaming
* Legal issues
* Copyright issues
* Contractual issues
* Welfare and wellbeing issues
* Remix cultures
* Audiences and fandom
The series is tailored for a scholarly audience and professionals within
the music industry, and there are currently three books under contract,
with others in review. The first book of the series – David Arditi’s
/Music Technology Panic Narratives Beyond Piracy: from taping to Napster
to TikTok /was published earlier this year.
