*Call for Papers: Central and Eastern European Game Studies Conference*
Theme: Meaning and Making of Games – New Challenges at the Intersection 
of Game Studies and Game Design
CEEGS (Central and Eastern European Game Studies conference) is a 
gathering of game scholars organized annually by DiGRA Central and 
Eastern Europe. Its thematic scope is not limited to regional topics, 
and it welcomes participants from anywhere in the world. In 2023, the 
conference will be held at Macromedia University of Applied Sciences in 
Leipzig, Germany. This time, our wish is to bring together game studies 
and game design and development communities.

*Important Dates*
Submission deadline: April 28, 2023
Notification to authors: July 7, 2023
Early bird registration deadline: July 28, 2023
Regular registration: July 29 - August 31, 2023
Late registration: September 1 – 15, 2023
Conference dates: October 19-21, 2023

*Submissions*
Papers for CEEGS 2023 should be submitted as abstracts of approximately 
500 words (400 words minimum and 600 words maximum). Each submission 
needs to be accompanied by a list of references cited within the 
abstract, which do not count towards the word limit.
