Sat Jul 02 12:04:33 GMT 2022
CHAPTER FOR BOOK
The Communication Observatory (OdeCom) of the Pontifical Catholic
University of Ecuador (PUCE), Branco Di Fátima (CIES-Iscte), and Sandra
Miranda (ESCS-IPL) summon academics and researchers from the
international scientific community to participate with their
contributions in the publication of the book entitled «Hate speech in
social media: theoretical perspectives and analysis methods».
The accepted works, after their review and assessment by a blind peer,
will be included as a book chapter considering the thematic line for
which the contribution was registered. The call responds to the
objective of strengthening the discussion of communication and its
contexts from the reflection of the world of communication and its
influence in different regions of the world and with dissimilar
investigative, professional, and educational experiences that nurture
the discussion on hate speech in the social media.
If you are interested in participating, you must identify some of the
following thematic areas to classify your work:
i) Hate speech: concept and definitions;
ii) Methods for mapping online hate speech;
iii) Analysis of hate groups in social media.
Academics, researchers and professionals interested in publishing their
work must present their interest, academic background and their topic
(not exceeding 20 words) via email, to the following addresses:
(gfilho /at/ escs.ipl.pt), (smiranda /at/ escs.ipl). pt, and (mvlopez /at/ puce.edu.ec) .
After the initial evaluation of the international committee designated
for the editorial process of the book, the authors of the selected
topics will be notified for the presentation of the full papers (in
extenso).
The book will have a printed publication in a limited number of copies
exclusively for its dissemination in university libraries,
organizations, academics, researchers, and communication professionals
in different countries of the world. There will be a digital version of
the text (Ebook) for marketing and dissemination. The authors will be
entitled to the digital version at no cost.
The book will be part of the Communication Library collection, published
by the Publications Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of
Ecuador (PUCE) and the Communication Observatory (OdeCom). The
publication is indexed in the Scholarly Publishers Indicators (SPI).
