[Commlist] Call for papers INAS

Thu Feb 28 23:44:16 GMT 2019

From 31st May to 2nd of June HSE University St. Petersburg hosts 1*2th Annual International Network of Analytical Sociology conference*(https://spb.hse.ru/inas2019/ <https://vk.com/away.php?to=https%3A%2F%2Fspb.hse.ru%2Finas2019%2F&cc_key=>), which welcomes papers using any qualitative or quantitative methods that allow for the study of social mechanisms and the complex social dynamics they give rise to. In addition, we welcome purely theoretical papers dealing with central aspects of the explanatory approach of analytical sociology.

Conference PC includes Daniel Alexandrov (HSE University St.Petersburg), Gunn Elisabeth Birkelund (University of Oslo), Andreas Flache (University of Groningen), Peter Hedstrom (Linköping University), and Eduard Ponarin (Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg). Keynote speakers are Michael W. Macy (Cornell University) and Flamino Squazzoni (Univerity of Milan).

Co-located with the conference Daniel Alexandrov (HSE University St.Petersburg) and Andreas Flache (University of Groningen) organize a *Symposium on Agent-Based Modelling for Theory Building in Social Sciences *(https://spb.hse.ru/inas2019/abmsymposium <https://vk.com/away.php?to=https%3A%2F%2Fspb.hse.ru%2Finas2019%2Fabmsymposium&cc_key=>), which invites submissions that analyze social processes by linking theories and models of human behavior to agent-based modelling (ABM) of collective dynamics. We are also interested in applications of ABM that advance theories of human behavior in Social Sciences, and link empirical insights from behavioral research (e.g. experiments, online data) to theoretically-driven ABM studies.

We invite 500-word abstracts for the conference or symposium either by e-mail (inas2019 /at/ hse.ru) <mailto:(inas2019 /at/ hse.ru)> or at the websites.

The _deadline_ for conference abstract and for the symposium abstract - _4th of March_.
