[ecrea] CFP "Transposed seriality. Adaptation, translation, tramsmediality" - Testo a fronte n. 59

Wed Jan 17 13:28:42 GMT 2018

*EXTENDED DEADLINE*
*"TESTO A FRONTE" n. 59, november 2018*
*CFP: Transposed seriality. Adaptation, translation, transmediality*
Seriality is one of the expressions of the work of art that was increased by the technical reproducibility, and has been deeply transformed by digital media. Mainly in the last decade, literature, visual arts, media studies, film studies and television studies have offered many interesting, sometimes contradictory but always stimulating perspectives on the phenomenon. Starting from the historical origins of the complex contemporary seriality, the forthcoming issue of /Testo a Fronte/  aims at stimulating research contributions focused on the "translation" dimension of the serial form, and on the practices and problems of transmedia transposition.  How must the original text be adapted to different media? How do authorship and originality afford the serial form? What are the main criteria for adaptation choices? How do the translation logics match local cultural contexts? We invite submissions from different scholar perspectives; possible topics can include but are not limited to:
- issues in the translation processes of serial products
- the historical origins of seriality
- the transmedia serial adaptation
- adaptation practices
- theoretical aspects of transmediality
- examples of transmedia translation of literary serial texts
- problems and opportunities for the adaptation in the transcultural area
Accepted languages:  English and Italian.
Deadline for submissions: February 20th, 2018.
Proposals (300-500 words) should be sent to: (testoafronte /at/ iulm.it) <mailto:(testoafronte /at/ iulm.it)> Please attach a brief biography (maximum 150 words) and an optional selected bibliography (up to five titles).
