Conference – CEECOM 2018*

*from30 May to 1 June, 2018in Szeged, Hungary.*
(Note: As a result of supplementary funds gained for the conference we
have the pleasure to announce the reduction of the conference fees.)
ORGANIZERS
The conference is organized by the Department of Political Science and
the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of
Szeged, Hungary, in cooperation with the ECREA Central and East European
Network, the CEECOM Consortium and the ICA Political Communication Division.
KEY QUESTIONS
The focal point of the 11th CEECOM is the conceptual and practical
application of space in communication, media studies, political
sciences, and a broad range of social scientific disciplines (from
cultural anthropology through geography to sociology). The conference
addresses a diverse set of issues and will cover a wide spectrum of
ideas related to ongoing changes and transformations of the concept of
space. The organizers look forward to presentations in (but not limited
to) the following focal areas of interest:
- Physical political spaces as communicative spaces
- General questions of mediatised spaces
- Social and control issues in politics and media
- Online / digital spaces

PAPER SUBMISSION
Abstracts for individual papers connected to one of the proposed topics
or open panels should contain the title of the desired panel. (Other
topics regarding CEE issues and/or beyond communicative or political
space are also welcomed.) Abstracts (with maximum length of 250 words)
will be evaluated by members of the Scientific Committee.
Note: the *call is open until 31st January, 2018 *and there will be no
extension of deadline.
