Best Paper Prize



The Changing Ecology of the Media



DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS: 21 September 2009



The European Media Management Association?s 2010 Conference will focus on the viability of contemporary media systems and the far-reaching implications ? on organisations and their strategies, on products and their consumers, on policies and on business models - which the current environmental changes are bringing.

How can organisations, consumers, regulators and policy makers create a viable media eco-system in the current technological environment? How can incumbent media firms find a sustainable business model in the emerging media eco-system? What will the emerging eco-system look like?

Papers are invited which address these issues from the perspectives of:



·        Audiences, user behaviour and market research

·        Public media

·        Future of television

·        Economics and business models

·        Online media

·        Marketing and branding

·        Leadership and organisation

·        Media policy and regulation

·        Business of news

·        Convergence




Submission Requirements and Review of Papers



Submissions are invited in the form of a 750 word abstract and should have the following format:

· First page of submission should include the manuscript title, author names(s) and institutional affiliation, and contact information for each of the authors.

· Second page should include: Title of paper, Keywords and the Abstract.

· To allow blind peer review of the abstracts and evaluation for Best Paper Prize and publication in International Journal of Media Management, abstracts need to: summarise paper contents, explain relevance to conference theme, outline methodology employed if relevant, demonstrate links to existing knowledge, outline contribution to new knowledge of media management, clarify key findings and lessons learned.



All submissions will be double blind reviewed by the Paper Review Committee. (Papers selected by the Paper Review Committee for submission to the International Journal of Media Management may be additionally blind peer reviewed by the Journal).

Deadline for submission of full papers 1 December 2009

(Only papers submitted by this date can be considered for inclusion in International Journal of Media Management or for the Best Paper Prize)
