[Commlist] CfP ECREA Post-Conference on Intergenerational Communication
Thu Apr 23 22:05:32 GMT 2026
CfP ECREA Post-Conference on Intergenerational Communication (17 & 18
September)
We are glad to invite you to the *ECREA post-conference* “Connected
Generations: Media, Communication, and Intergenerational Exchange in
Contemporary Lives” organized by the Children, Youth and Media Section
and the Temporary Working Group on Aging and Communication.
This event, hosted by the CNSC-TRÀNSIC research group at UOC, will take
place *online* on the mornings of *September 17th and 18th, 2026.*
*Abstracts* can be submitted until May 15th, 2026.
Building on the ECREA 2026 theme “Shifting Grounds: Paths, Connections,
and Futures,” the post-conference examines intergenerationality as a
crucial dimension of contemporary mediated lives, highlighting both
emerging opportunities and persistent challenges. Today's
sociotechnological transformations—marked by conflict, crisis, and rapid
change—have profoundly reshaped how generations interact, learn, and
build relationships through media. As younger and older generations
navigate increasingly dense media landscapes, critical questions emerge
about digital divides, knowledge transfer, shared media practices, and
the evolution of family and community communication patterns.
