Also all info about CFP here in text:

A new year’s reminder that The Bulletin of Spanish Studies and its
sister journal the Bulletin of Spanish Visual Studies is embracing
innovative research through the medium of videographic criticism in a
special issue dedicated to video essays that investigate the visual
histories, cultures and civilisations of Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

This special edition is scheduled for publication in September 2026 and
will be co-edited by Professor Rob Stone, Professor Catherine Grant, and
Professor Vicente Rodríguez Ortega.

Guidelines for submission
The Bulletin of Spanish Visual Studies invites practitioners of
videographic criticism to submit work that (as video essays, audiovisual
essays, etc.) represents, examines and develops this innovative mode of
presenting film, television, screen, media, and moving image research in
the area of Spanish visual studies.
The Bulletin invites submissions of videographic criticism of a maximum
of 20 minutes with complementary written essays of 3,000-6,000 words.
These works of videographic criticism should advance an idea and/or
argument relating to Spanish visual studies in a way that prioritises
the medium and exploits its potential. The written component should
offer supporting descriptions of the context (theoretical, industrial,
cultural, etc.), articulate its research aims and provide reflections on
the purpose and process of the video work, but it should not take
precedence over the videographic criticism.
Contributors should submit by 31 January 2026:
•    Title of work.
•    Author’s name and affiliation.
•    Abstract of no more than 100 words.
•    4-8 keywords.
•    The full text document of 3,000-6,000 words formatted according to
journal’s guidelines.
•    A bibliography of works cited in the document and the video work.
•    Link or links to the works of videographic criticism of not more
than 20 minutes duration,
which should be hosted on an established platform (e.g. Vimeo)
and be password protected.
•    The password for the link to the videographic work.

An example of the formatting and presentation of a video essay as
article in the Bulletin of Spanish Visual Studies is available here:

Submission Checklist

Successful submissions will receive notice of acceptance and feedback in
early 2026. To be considered for publication, submissions need to be
original scholarly works not previously published elsewhere. Peer
assessors involved in the evaluation process include members of the
Bulletin’s Executive Editorial Board and/or international Editorial
Advisory Committee and also external assessors world-wide, selected for
their expertise and standing in the field of videographic criticism.
Rigorous peer assessment procedures ensure that all studies published in
the BSVS meet the highest standards of scholarship and make an enduring
and influential contribution to items of videographic criticism on
Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

Submission of final versions for publication will be required by 31 May
2026.
