[Commlist] Digital Collection on Information, Communication and Society.

Sat Feb 14 19:06:15 GMT 2026

We are very glad to share that our latest digital collection, /Migration and Digital Media/ <https://www.tandfonline.com/journals/rics20/collections/Migration-and-Digital-Media>, is now online and free to access.

As part of our ongoing effort to revisit and curate the journal’s archive from different perspectives, this collection brings together eighteen articles previously published in /Information, Communication & Society/. Over the years, iCS has been an important space for research on migration and digital media, from work on everyday communication, transnational families and digital diasporas to studies of algorithms, surveillance and digital bordering.

Curated by *Amber I. Bartlett, Koen Leurs and Noemi Mena Montes*, the collection allows these conversations to be read together. Their editorial work has drawn a complex picture of how digital media shapes intimacy, exclusion, care and control across different contexts.

In iCS, we believe that this theme is especially important today, as anti-immigrant sentiment grows and digital infrastructure can be used to target and criminalise individuals and groups.
