CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Congreso H, an international congress for communication, is accepting
proposals for its sixth edition in Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain).
Under the academic direction of Dr. Lorena Antezana (University of
Chile) and Dr. Asier Aranzubia (University Carlos III of Madrid), the
organization invites the research and professional community to
participate in this event, which brings together scholars and
professionals in the field of communication and audiovisual media
within the Ibero-American space.

THEMATIC LINES

The program addresses contemporary challenges in cinema, photography,
journalism, advertising, social media, streaming platforms, and
academia, among many other topics related to communication, culture,
and audiovisual media.

- Digital Ecosystems and Social Media
- Advertising, Communication, and Marketing
- Politics and Digital Activism
- Cinema, Photography, and other Audiovisual Products
- Streaming Platforms and their Content
- Challenges in Communication Academia
- Special Track: Islands (Landscapes, Identity and Sustainability)

This sixth edition features a special track dedicated to insularity,
urban planning, and the legacy of César Manrique from a communicative,
cultural, and symbolic perspective.

PARTICIPATION MODELS

The congress allows participation in Spanish (as well as presentations
in English, provided the final publication is in Spanish).
Communication and Media Studies scholars are welcome. Two modalities
are available:

- Online Congress (May 27-29, 2026): Compatible with LATAM and
European time zones. Allows for both asynchronous and live
(synchronous) participation.

- In-person Congress (June 3-6, 2026): Held in Puerto del Carmen
(Lanzarote, Spain), with two presentation formats:
  -- Theatre Zone (Zona Teatro): Papers presented in thematic panels
(traditional format).
  -- Beach Zone (Zona Playas): An alternative exhibition format using
outdoor totems facing the sea, facilitating dissemination and
networking.

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES

The editorial committee promotes the option to publish work in books
with prestigious publishers and monographs in international indexed
journals. Previous editions have featured publishers such as Tirant Lo
Blanch, Fragua, Dykinson, and Gedisa, as well as journals such as
aDResearch, Comunicación y Medios, Dixit, Fotocinema, Miguel Hernández
Journal, Palabra Clave, and Revista Austral Comunicación.

CULTURAL EXPERIENCE AND NEW FEATURES 2026

- Reception in Madrid (May 30 - June 1): An optional preliminary
stopover for international attendees featuring cultural activities and
an institutional reception (UCM, UC3M, URJC, ESIC) before flying to
the Canary Islands.
- Social Program in Lanzarote: Excursions to the Cueva de los Verdes,
Teguise, and La Graciosa island, along with cultural and gastronomic
activities.
- Logistics: The venue is located in Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote,
Spain), with various accommodation options and transport provided by
the organization for external activities.

El Congreso Internacional H tiene plazo abierto de recepción de
propuestas de comunicación para su sexta edición en Lanzarote (Islas
Canarias, España). La organización, bajo la dirección académica de la
Dra. Lorena Antezana (Universidad de Chile) y el Dr. Asier Aranzubia
(Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), invita a la comunidad
investigadora y profesional a participar en este evento, que reúne a
académicos y profesionales del ámbito de la comunicación y los medios
audiovisuales en el espacio iberoamericano.

LÍNEAS TEMÁTICAS

El programa aborda los retos contemporáneos en el cine, la fotografía,
el periodismo, la publicidad, las redes sociales, las plataformas de
streaming y la academia, entre muchas otras temáticas relacionadas con
la comunicación, la cultura y los medios audiovisuales.

- Ecosistemas digitales y redes sociales
- Publicidad, comunicación y marketing
- Política y activismo digital
- Cine, fotografía y otros productos audiovisuales
- Plataformas de streaming y sus contenidos
- Retos de la academia en comunicación
- Especial: Islas (Paisajes, identidad y sostenibilidad)

Esta sexta edición presenta una línea especial dedicada a la
insularidad, el urbanismo y el legado de César Manrique desde una
perspectiva comunicativa, cultural y simbólica.

MODELOS DE PARTICIPACIÓN

El congreso permite la participación en español (y presentaciones en
inglés con publicación en castellano). Los investigadores en
Comunicación y Medios son bienvenidos. Dos modalidades disponibles:

- Congreso online (27-29 de mayo 2026): Compatible con horarios LATAM
y Europa. Permite participación asíncrona o en directo.

- Congreso presencial (3-6 de junio 2026): En Puerto del Carmen
(Lanzarote, España), con dos formatos de presentación:
  -- Zona Teatro: Comunicaciones en mesas temáticas (formato tradicional).
  -- Zona Playas: Formato alternativo de exposición mediante tótems al
aire libre frente al mar, facilitando la divulgación y el networking.

OPORTUNIDADES DE PUBLICACIÓN

El comité editorial de Congreso H promueve la opción de publicar
trabajos en libros con editoriales de prestigio y monográficos en
revistas indexadas. En ediciones anteriores han participado
editoriales como Tirant Lo Blanch, Fragua, Dykinson y Gedisa, así como
revistas como aDResearch, Comunicación y Medios, Dixit, Fotocinema,

- Recepción en Madrid (30 de mayo - 1 de junio): Escala previa
opcional para internacionales con actividades culturales y recepción
institucional (UCM, UC3M, URJC, ESIC) antes de volar a Canarias.
- Programa social en Lanzarote: Excursiones a la Cueva de los Verdes,
Teguise y la isla de La Graciosa. Actividades culturales y
gastronómicas.
- Logística: Sede en Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote, España) con
diversas opciones de alojamiento y transporte facilitado por la
organización para las actividades externas.
