*Call for Papers for Special Issue on “Policy Responses to Generative
AI” in Telecommunications Policy
Generative AI is affecting politics, industry, education, national
security, and society, raising urgent questions about law, governance,
and regulation. This special issue of Telecommunications Policy invites
empirical, conceptual and theoretical contributions that explore how
policy can and should respond to generative AI. Comparative,
interdisciplinary and integrative perspectives are especially welcome.
The special issue is open to scholars from different areas, including
media studies and communication research.
Potential topics include:

Synthetic media (e.g. deepfakes)
*
AI fairness, transparency, and bias
*
Intellectual property and ownership
*
Content moderation
*
Risk and security standards
*
Privacy and reputation management
*
Public participation in AI governance
*
Critical and cultural approaches to AI governance
Submission information:

Submission deadline: 28 February 2026
