Fri Sep 12 11:24:36 GMT 2025
General Call for Papers: Book 2.0
Book 2.0 is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal with
contributions by leading and emerging scholars, practitioners and
theorists on historical, modern and contemporary book creation, design,
illustration and production. Its focus is unique, and its topics are
broad, ranging from oral literature to digital humanities, every article
addressing an urgent question or topic.
We welcome contributions from scholars, authors, poets, illustrators,
publishers, filmmakers and others with something to say about
literature, narrative, communication, book production and what makes a
book a book.
Our upcoming issues will focus on:
16.1: Open Themed (Submissions due: 1 January 2026)
16.2: Crime (Submissions due: 1 July 2026)
17.1: The State of Publishing (Submissions due: 1 January 2027)
17.2: The Value of the Humanities (Submissions due: 1 July 2027)
We invite articles and creative works of approximately 4000–5000 words
(prose) or 1000–2000 words (poetry). Please include 300-word abstracts
and book reviews of 1500–2000 words.
Please submit your work and/or your queries about the journal to both
Editors-in-Chief, Drs Tom Ue ((tom_ue /at/ hotmail.com)
<mailto:(tom_ue /at/ hotmail.com)>) and J.C. Bernthal ((jamie /at/ jcbernthal.com)
<mailto:(jamie /at/ jcbernthal.com)>) with ‘Book 2.0’ in the subject bar.
Please contact the editors prior to beginning a review to prevent
overlaps and to ensure wide coverage.
