[Commlist] CFP: Communication and Change

We are excited to announce the launch of Communication and Change (C&C),
a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to
advancing the understanding of communication in the context of rapid
technological and societal transformation
(https://link.springer.com/journal/44382). With emerging technologies
such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data reshaping
communication practices, social structures, and media landscapes,
Communication and Change seeks to foster innovative research and
theory-building that explores the dynamic interplay between
communication and change.
The C&C is published by Springer and is institutionally based at the
School of Journalism, Fudan University. Professor James E. Katz at
Boston University and Professor Baohua Zhou at Fudan are the journal’s
co-Editors-in-Chief.
We invite you to explore the journal and consider submitting your
research. In particular, we would like to draw your attention to two
current open calls for submissions:
1. Call for Papers: Upcoming Special Issue – “Beyond Artificial:
Exploring the Socio-Emotional Landscape of AI”
Deadline: March 1, 2025.
Publication: Word count between 6,000 and 10,000 words. Article
Processing Charges (APC) is fully sponsored by Fudan University,
Shanghai, China. No payment from the authors will be required.

2. Call for Special-Issue Proposals
We are inviting proposals for special issues aligned with the journal’s
focus, for which you will act as the special-issue editor. Article
Processing Charges (APC) is fully sponsored by Fudan University,
Shanghai, China. No payment from the authors will be required.
Topics of forthcoming special issues include “Communication Research in
the Age of AI” and “Beyond Artificial: Exploring the Socio-Emotional
Landscape of AI.”
Submission: 2-3 page proposals outlining the rationale for the special
issue, the proposed timeline, and the guest editors’ availability and
expertise to ensure a high-quality and timely editorial process.
Deadline: March 1, 2025.
