[Commlist] University International Media production Festival

It is our pleasure and honor to invite you to participate in the first 
edition of October 6 University International Media production Festival 
in July 2025 featuring students’ graduation projects besides amateurs, 
independent media content creators and independent filmmakers’ productions.

The Faculty of Media and Communication Arts at October 6 University is 
launching the first edition of O6UIMPF in July 2025. This initiative 
fosters cultural, academic and community interaction and cooperation 
between the faculty and its counterparts in Egypt and around the world. 
The festival aims at encouraging students from Egyptian, Arab, African 
and international universities to produce high-quality graduation 
projects through constructive competition. It also contributes to 
celebrating excellence in creativity and innovation in media production 
among  amateurs, independent content creators and independent 
filmmakers. Additionally, the festival provides opportunities for the 
exchange of ideas and experiences between media faculties inside and 
outside Egypt besides  showcasing the latest trends and innovations in 
various media fields.

The competitions include:
  Print  and digital journalism categories include:
1- Printed newspaper
2- Printed magazine
3- Website
4- Mobile phones application
5- Journalistic production using artificial intelligence

Radio and television categories include:
1- Radio  program
2- Television program
3- Radio news bulletin
4- Television news bulletin
5-Drama
6-Animation and graphics
7-Documentary film or program
8-Music video
9- Radio and television production using artificial intelligence

Advertising categories include:
1- Print advertisement
2- Radio advertisement
3- Television advertisement
4- Producing an advertisement using artificial intelligence

Rules and conditions:
•     Participation of recent production from the years 2023, 2024  and 2025
•     Participation of students’ graduation projects from Egypt is 
submitted by faculties
•     Participation of students’ graduation projects from outside Egypt 
is submitted by the faculties or the individuals (students) themselves, 
or any member of the crew with proof of the participant's identity and 
written consent from the other crew  members to confirm their agreement 
to participate in the festival
•     Participation of amateurs, independent media content creators and 
independent filmmakers can be through any member of the crew, with proof 
of the participant's identity and written consent from the other crew 
members to confirm their agreement to participate in the festival
•     The language of production must be Arabic or English. Non-Arabic 
or Non- English production must have English subtitles, narration or be 
dubbed in English
•     Faculties and individuals can participate in more than one 
competition and with more than one production, and each production has a fee
•     The submitter agrees that the festival will use trailer, poster, 
stills and promotional material upon selection and nomination
•     The submitter must have created the project himself or herself , 
own the rights or have permission from the owner of the content to 
submit the production to the festival
•     Entry fees are non-refundable
•     The submitter cannot withdraw after the official selection 
announcement
•     The  festival is not  responsible for travel, lodging and all 
other expenses

Submission:
  - Send an email  to the Faculty of Media and  Communication Arts at 
October 6 University
Email: (Media /at/ o6u.edu.eg)
including:
•     The production via Google drive link
•     The name of the faculty , university, crew members, university ID 
or the name of the amateur, independent content creator or independent 
filmmaker, a mobile phone number, passport copy
- Or submit a flash drive containing the production to the secretary of 
the Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts, at the Faculty 
building, October 6 University.
Awards and  Prizes:
The awards and prizes for each competitions’ categories are divided into 
three positions: first, second, and third.

Dates and deadlines:
- Submission opens on 20 January 2025
- The deadline for submitting entries is on 20  June 2025
- The awards ceremony will be held in July 2025

The festival offers different sponsorship opportunities to fit any 
budget and welcomes local, regional, national and international sponsors.
