Sun Oct 13 13:07:35 GMT 2024

CALL FOR PAPERS

*I National Seminar on Animation Research: Exploring Animation Studies in Spain.*
*Universidad Europea de Madrid, December 13, 2024*

On December 13 will take place at the European University of Madrid the I National Seminar on Animation Research: Exploring Animation Studies in Spain. This initiative has been promoted by the group MESA (Mujeres que Estudian Animación), which brings together researchers from different profiles and university affiliations. MESA arises from the desire to study animation and to claim its place in the academy, but also with the aim of giving visibility to women researchers.

In order to identify some of the research lines that will allow the continuity of this seminar, a series of thematic areas are proposed:

- Women in the animation industry.
- Animation, gender and intersectional representations.
- History of animation.
- Animation in Spain.
- Animation technology and practice.
- Animators and animation studios.
- Narrative and representation in animation.
- Animation and philosophy.
- Interdisciplinary approaches to animation studies.
- Video games and animation.
- The future of animation.
