[Commlist] Call for Contributors - MultiPlay's Liberate Me Plenty

Mon Sep 09 16:19:11 GMT 2024

After a successful CFP round, MultiPlay’s /Liberate Me Plenty: The Queer and Now of Digital Gaming/ project is in the latter stages of submitting work to the publisher.  A project borne out of the desire to support emerging academic work in the Queer Game Studies space, we have collected a number of submissions surrounding themes such as queer play, queer identities and queer spatiotemporalities, from a variety of contributors from video essayists to early-career and post-doctoral academics.

Given the varied backgrounds of our contributors though, we are now in the process of looking for more seasoned academic voices (post-doctoral and beyond) who are willing to get involved with the project and offer additional supports to the project and contributors.

This can take the form of:

  * offering support to those authors with less academic experience by
    becoming a contributing author;
  * contributing an additional chapter to the work; or,
  * any additional support you may be willing to offer not already
    mentioned.

If you are interested in getting involved, or would like more information, please email *(gregory.mcguinness.18 /at/ ucl.ac.uk)* or *(networkmultiplay /at/ gmail.com)* with the subject line ‘*LMP Contributors*’.

As was the intention, the approach we have taken with /Liberate Me Plenty / has allowed for a number of themes to emerge in the work that is not typically seen in Game Studies scholarship, particularly around Asexuality and Agender representations and forms of analysis.  As such, any support offered to the project will be of great benefit and help such works get to the final publication stage.
