Arcom is the French Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulation Authority and you now have until September 6th to send your applications to : (journee-etudes /at/ arcom.fr).

The approach of the Research day is resolutely multidisciplinary and the themes are varied. Here are just a few examples:

- The economics of information and the digital transformation of traditional media: how the advertising and attention markets work; changes in the way information is consumed in the audiovisual and digital media; the socio-economic impact of artificial intelligence tools on the audiovisual sector; the environmental challenges of digital use;

- Protection of audiences, issues of social cohesion and representation of society in the media and online: measuring the pluralism of currents of opinion; moderation, regulation and self-regulation of platforms and algorithmic biases, particularly with regard to the persistence of stereotypes and discrimination; representations and support for the ecological transition; work on the consumption and regulation of harmful content; issues of education in audiovisual and digital media; uses and consumption of young audiences; - Regulation of digital platforms, social networks and systemic risks: work on the manipulation of information and virality, the spread of infox and hate content; studies on the technical application of the Regulation on digital services; identification and understanding of systemic risks in the use of data, particularly in the field of health, digital citizenship and democratic life; - The economics of creation, production and piracy: current developments and prospects for legal supply; the economics of streaming, influencer marketing and alternative business models; the challenges of financing the production and promotion of European and French content; the technical and socio-economic challenges of piracy and the consumption of illegal content.

NB: Communication and Media Studies scholars are welcome
