[Commlist] Journal of Digital Media & Policy 15.2 published - special issue on European-Based VoDs: Models, Alternatives and Predictions

Wed Aug 21 10:49:55 GMT 2024

Intellect is pleased to announce that Journal of Digital Media & Policy 15.2 is out now!

Special Issue: ‘European-Based VoDs: Models, Alternatives and Predictions’

Streaming services have become the dominant medium for the transnational circulation of film, television and other scripted entertainment, as well as informative and artistic content. Whether as Subscription Video-on-Demand (SVoD) platforms like MUBI or DAFilms or as free content offered by public broadcasters such as the BBC or ZDF, streaming services both facilitate and hinder cultural exchanges between European cultures, societies and media industries. Their impact is multifaceted, influencing these realms in both meaningful and sustainable ways, as well as posing challenges.
