[Commlist] New book: Videolised Society

      The book titled /*Videolised Society */*(2023)*, planned by
      Professor Meng Jian from the School of Journalism at Fudan
      University and co-edited with Professor Zhao Hui from the School
      of Drama, Film, and Television at Communication University of
      China, has recently been published by Palgrave Macmillan.



      This book is the first in academia to explore the theme of “*the
      videolisation of society*.” It systematically discusses how video
      content is categorised, the development of the video industry, and
      the role of video culture in constructing a new social
      civilisation. As an intercultural communication practice by
      Chinese scholars, we hope to communicate with scholars from
      different cultures to explore how visual images deeply shape our
      daily aesthetic experiences and serve as a new instrument to
      present an emerging social civilisation.
