*Call for Papers for ICA Regional Conference on Climate and Communication*

FCCU's Department of Mass Communication is honored to host the 
prestigious ICA Regional Conference this December, marking a significant 
milestone as ICA's first-ever convention in Pakistan.

We are grateful to have the Association of Media and Communication 
Academic Professionals (AMCAP) (https://amcap.net/website/ 
<https://amcap.net/website/>) who are collaborating with us for the event.

The International Communication Association (ICA) Regional Conference in 
Lahore, Pakistan, invites papers on ‘Climate and Communication’ for the 
ICA’s Regional Convention to be held in Forman Christian College (A 
Chartered University), Lahore on November 21st and 22nd, 2024. We would 
especially like to encourage submissions on topics related to climate 
change and communication that will stir up debates, motivate scholars, 
and foster collaborations for the future. The theme of this event will 
revolve around an array of questions such as: (a) What can/should be the 
role of communication to create an increased awareness among masses for 
climate-induced hazards, (b) what role can/should climate journalism 
play in creating an appetite for climate-related news in the audience? 
(c) What remedial measures can/should be offered by social 
justice-driven activism in communication? (d) How can global and local 
scholarly communities work together to offset the disproportionate 
burden of global warming on the global south? (e) How can communication 
be used effectively to bring meaningful changes? ICA Regional in 
Pakistan is a hybrid event allowing in-person and online participation.

We invite scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students to 
contribute to this global discourse by submitting their papers for one 
of the following Conference Divisions:

- Climate Activism and Social Justice

- Gender, Race, Ethnicity, Class and Climate Communication

- Decolonizing Climate Narratives: Justice, Equity, and Global 
Responsibility

- Environmental Communication

- Health Communication

- Risk/Crisis Communication

- Science Communication
