Te Herenga Waka- Victoria University of Wellington is currently 
recruiting a Lecturer in Media and Communication, School of English, 
Film, Theatre, Media and Communication, and Art History.

Two new Communication degrees were launched at Te Herenga Waka- Victoria 
University of Wellington in 2020: the Bachelor of Communication and the 
Master of Communication.

Enrolments in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses have increased 
in the four years since these degrees were introduced. We are now 
looking to appoint a suitably qualified lecturer to contribute to the 
Media and Communication Programme from 2024.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of this programme, which is 
located at one of the oldest universities in Aotearoa/New Zealand and is 
positioned within walking distance of the center of this country’s 
capital city, Wellington.

The successful candidate will:

  * Have a PhD in Communication or Media Studies, or in a closely
    related and relevant field.
  * Demonstrate a commitment to and/or an existing track record of
    research in the Communication or Media Studies fields.
  * Be able to effectively engage and mentor students from different
    backgrounds and supervise student research at both undergraduate and
    postgraduate levels.
  * Demonstrate the ability to work collegially in a team, contribute
    effectively to the administration of the programme, and evidence an
    awareness of our obligations, as an academic staff and a wider
    university, to the Treaty of Waitangi

The role will include designing and delivering courses at undergraduate 
and postgraduate level in addition to contributing to the research 
profile of the Media and Communication Programme.
