Tervetuloa Viestinnän tutkijayhdistys VAKKI ry:n XLIV symposiumiin 
8.–9.2.2024!

Symposiumin teemana on Moninaisuus viestinnässä. Kokoamme yhteen eri 
tutkimusalojen edustajia keskustelemaan aiheesta viestinnän-, 
diskurssin- ja mediatutkimuksen näkökulmista.


Plenaristit ovat:
– Professori Christiane Maaß (Universität Hildesheim, Saksa): “Hi 
ChatGPT, translate this text into Easy Language. Is the new Easy 
Language translator a machine?”

– Apulaisprofessori Ellen Nathues (Universiteit Twente, Alankomaat): 
“Differences in Dialogue: The Many Voices We Can Encounter in Communication”

Welcome to the XLIV symposium of VAKKI Communication Research 
Association on February 8–9, 2024!

The symposium is arranged under the theme of Diversity in Communication. 
We welcome you to discuss this theme from the perspectives of 
communication, discourse, and media studies in the symposium held in Vaasa.


The plenary speakers are:
– Professor Christiane Maaß (University of Hildesheim, Germany): “Hi 
ChatGPT, translate this text into Easy Language. Is the new Easy 
Language translator a machine?”

– Assistant Professor Ellen Nathues (University of Twente, the 
Netherlands): “Differences in Dialogue: The Many Voices We Can Encounter 
in Communication”


Participants may contribute with a section presentation or a workshop 
presentation. The workshop descriptions are available at
