*JCMR Releases Vol. 15, No. 2, October 2023 edition – 33^rd Issue*
We are pleased to announce the release of Volume 15, Number 2, October
2023 issue of the /Journal of Communication and Media Research/ (JCMR),
the flagship journal of the Association of Media and Communication
Researchers of Nigeria (AMCRON). This is the journal’s 33^rd issue since
it started publication in 2009. Every issue has been released regularly
and on schedule in April and October of every year plus three special
occasional issues.
The Volume 15, Number 2, October 2023 issue focuses on *Theories &
Theorizing, Communication Strategies, News Framing & Reporting**.*The
issue contains 18 articles written by 32 authors (17 from Nigeria, nine
from the United States of America, four from Kenya, and one each from
Ghana and Zimbabwe).
Printed hard copies are available for sale while the online versions of
the abstracts and full articles have been uploaded onto our website. All
the Abstracts and Articles of this issue (and all other issues published
from 2009 till date) are available for free access and free download at
our website. Interested readers are free to order for either the print

full professor of media communications at Governors State University,
Illinois, United States of America. He serves as a mass media and
development consultant and strategist.
*Atkin, David, Ph.D.,*is a Professor of Communication at the University
of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut, United States of America and an
Associate Editor with /Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly./ His
research interests include the diffusion of emerging media and program
formats, political communication and digital media policy.
*Cerce, Madison LaVonne* is a doctoral student in the Department of
Communication, University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, United
States of America. Madison LaVonne Cerce is a critical pedagogy scholar
whose communication research is centered on the dynamic of graduate
students and graduate student instructors.**
*Coletti, Amanda* is a doctoral candidate in the Department of
Communication, University of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut, United
States of America. Her research interests include science
communication, training and development, and narrative storytelling.
*Hamlin, Emily*is a doctoral candidate in the Department of
Communication, University of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut, United
States of America. She is also the Learning Effectiveness Director at
Travelers. Her research interests include organizational communication,
particularly relational development in workplace environments.
*McGloin, Rory, Ph.D.,*is an Associate Professor with the University of
Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut, United States of America. He holds a
joint-appointment with both the School of Business and the Department of
Communication and also serves as the Associate Director for
Entrepreneurial Communication and Research at the Connecticut Center for
Entrepreneurship and Innovation. His current research is focused on the
training and development of business communication skills in both
organizational and entrepreneurial settings.
*Moemeka, Andrew Azukaego, Ph.D.,* Professor Emeritus, was, until his
transition on 6^th September 2023, a Professor Emeritus in the
Department of Communication, Central Connecticut State University, New

*Regutti, Kailin* is a doctoral student in the Department of
Communication, University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, United
States of America. Kailin Regutti is a critical cultural and media
studies scholar whose research examines the representation of mental
health at the intersection of gender.
*Thayer, Mary Holloway* earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech
Communication from the University of Utah, Utah, United States of
America and a Master of Arts in Professional Communication from Southern
Utah University, Utah. She is a debate coach and math educator at Lava
Heights Academy, Toquerville, Utah, United States of America. Her
research interests are in the areas of small group roles, curriculum
development, and utilizing modern technology in care giving.

*Dzisah, Wilberforce S. Ph.D.,* is a senior lecturer and the Head of the

research positions at Nairobi University; the Africa Nazarene
University; the Centre for African Family Studies of the International
Planned Parenthood Federation, Africa Regional Office and the Kenya
Methodist University.
*Mareri, Lydia Ayako, Ph.D.,* is a Lecturer in the Department of
Literature, Languages, and Linguistics, Faculty of Arts and Social
Sciences, Egerton University, Kenya. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication
& Media from Kisii University, Kenya, as well as a PhD in Management and
a Masters of Arts in Education (Applied Linguistics) from the University
of Southampton, England. Her research interests encompass Media

of Mass Communication, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria and was
a one-time Postgraduate Studies Coordinator in the department. His

*Bello, Lukuman, Ph.D.,* is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education of
the National Open University of Nigeria. He also serves as an
instructional designer in the Directorate of Learning Content Management
Systems of the university.
*Eke, Chigozi*is a doctoral student of the Department of Linguistics and
Communication Studies, University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt,
Rivers State, Nigeria. His research interests include journalism, media
