*Livestreaming: keynotes & roundtable of ECREA’s Contested Visibilities 
conference*

The conference Contested Visibilities: Everyday politics and online 
imaginaries of the body, co-organised by the Digital Culture and 
Communication, Gender, Sexuality and Communication and Visual Cultures 
ECREA's sections and their YECREA representatives, will broadcast the 
keynote and roundtable sessions via Youtube.

The event takes place in person from 6 to 8 September 2023, at Lusófona 
University, in Lisbon, Portugal, and features a programme of around 50 
papers presented in thematic sessions over the three days of the event.

In addition, at the opening session on Wednesday 6 September at 2 PM 
(Lisbon time), guest researcher Daniela Jaramillo-Dent (UNIVERSITY OF 
ZURICH) will lecture on "The platformed migrant: The politics of migrant 
bodies and their (in)visibility". On the 7th, at 5 PM (Lisbon time) the 
round table on the theme "Queer and feminist activisms on social media - 
experiences, challenges, pitfalls" will be debated with three references 
in Portuguese activism: Alexa Santos (CLUBE SAFO), Marta Martins 
(MANAMIGA) and Inês Mourão (NASTY WOMEN PORTUGAL).

The keynote on the last day of the event, Friday 8 September, at 11 AM 
(Lisbon time) will be presented by Marloes Geboers (UNIVERSITY OF 
AMSTERDAM), who will talk about "Feeling Rules: Embodiment, Visibility, 
and Affective Polarisation on WarTok".

**Organisation**

This ECREA conference is co-organised by the Digital Culture and 
Communication, Gender, Sexuality and Communication and Visual Cultures 
sections and their YECREA representatives.
