[Commlist] PSA24 CFP Media and Politics themed panels

Tue Jul 18 13:47:23 GMT 2023

CFP: Political Studies Association Annual International Conference – Media and Politics themed panels at main conference.
25-27 March 2024, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, #PSA24
In-person only conference
Deadline for abstracts and panel proposals: Monday 4th September 2023

The PSA Media and Politics Group invites members to submit paper abstracts or panel proposals for our specialist stream stream at the PSA Annual International Conference 2024. Papers may be related to the conference theme, After (Neo-)Liberalism, but other topics from across the discipline are also welcomed. Please note that this year the conference is open for in-person attendance only.

For panel proposals, please submit a title for the panel, along with an abstract of 300 words for each paper. Panels must comprise at least three and no more than four papers, and ideally be diverse in the range of speakers – the PSA ask that you try to avoid all-male and all-white panels where possible. Please feel free to propose a chair, but we can allocate a chair from other attendees if you prefer. We also welcome individual abstract submissions, and will formulate panels from the accepted submissions. Please submit abstracts and panel proposals as a Word/text document attachment by email to the convenors at (psampg /at/ gmail.com) by Monday 4th September (please note that this is a much earlier deadline than the direct individual submission to the PSA). All abstracts must include an email address and the institutional affiliation for the corresponding author. Please also indicate if you are a postgraduate student.

We have a limited number of panels we can submit so we may not be able to include all submissions. Decisions about inclusion in the proposed MPG panels will be communicated on Monday 11th September, allowing you to submit individually directly to the PSA in November 2023 if you are unsuccessful.

The PSA uses the Ex Ordo system for online submissions. If your abstract is successful and included in the proposed PSA MPG stream, we will provide further guidance on how to submit your abstract/panel proposal to ensure it is included in our allocated panels.

Further information on the conference theme, registration fees and conference location will be available here in due course:
